The story of "The Mysterious Laboratory" centers on a lonely scientist who, after encountering a "witch," a "frankenstein," and a "ghost," expands his perception and learns to get along with others. The "ghost" eventually motivates him to don the mechanical wings and leave his confined house to begin a new life.

“The Mysterious Laboratory” incorporates technology, engineering, performing arts, and music to take the audience on an imaginative journey through arts and technology. The artwork offers an original and distinctive arts technology theatrical experience to engage the audience through the use of multimedia and S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) concepts as well as enjoying scientific demonstrations on stage.

By inviting participation and inspiring audiences of all ages to use mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and creative tinkering, the work stimulates the public's interest in art technology. Audiences can get access to music and multi-sensory experiences using QR codes, connecting with people from diverse cultures, ages, and backgrounds.

The show was completed smoothly under a pandemic in November 2020. At that time, venues in Hong Kong were temporarily closed, audiences lost interest in live performances, and actors were required to sing and act with face masks. In a rapidly changing environment, will the intention of art and creation become “RARE”, when daily survival is a constant struggle?

The creative team invites the audience to follow in the scientist's footsteps in the story and regenerate curiosity under the ever-changing "new normal".
