盧景文 1960 年代在羅馬歌劇院和佩魯賈城摩勒奇劇院工作,回港後開始舞台演出創作,任編劇、導演、設計於一身,作品超逾二百餘齣,包括歌劇、話劇、舞劇、音樂劇,演出地點遍及亞洲和歐美各地。

多年以來,盧教授除藝術創作之外,還致力高等教育工作和義務公職。他於 1993 至 2004 年期間被任命為香港演藝學院校長。於 2004 年至2009 年期間,擔任廣東國際音樂夏令營校長一職,為年青管弦樂手提供專業訓練。他又於 2008 年參與創立「非凡美樂」,致力培育青年藝術人才,為他們拓展演出經驗。

盧教授對香港發展貢獻良多,獲香港特區政府委任為太平紳士,亦獲頒大英帝國最優秀勳章、意大利共和國騎士勳章、法國文化及傳播部藝術及文學騎士勳章,並獲香港大學、香港理工大學、香港演藝學院及英國皇家藝術學會頒授榮譽院士。盧教授分別於 2005 年及 2012 年獲香港特區政府頒發香港銅紫荊及銀紫荊星章。於 2021 年更獲得第 15 屆香港藝術發展獎終身成就獎。

Returning from Italy where he worked at the Opera Theatre of Rome and the Morlacchi Theatre of Perugia in the 1960s, Lo Kingman has since written, directed and designed over 200 stage productions ranging from opera, drama, dance to musical theatre with performances in Asia, Europe and America.

Over the years, Prof. Lo has made significant contributions not only in the performing arts but also in the fields of higher education and public service. He was appointed Director of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts from 1993 to 2004. From 2004 to 2009, he was the Principal of the Canton International Summer Music Academy, which offers professional training for young orchestral musicians. In 2008, he participated in the creation of Musica Viva, an organisation dedicated to nurturing young artists and extending their performing opportunities in operas and concerts.

Prof. Lo was appointed a Justice of the Peace by the Government of HKSAR, made a Member of the Order of the British Empire in the Queen’s Honours List, honoured as a Cavaliere of the Order of Merit by the Republic of Italy, and decorated with the title of Chevaliere de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture and Communications. Honorary Fellowships have been conferred upon him by The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and the Royal Society of Arts in Great Britain. In 2005 and 2012, respectively, Prof. Lo received the Bronze and Silver Bauhinia Stars of the HKSAR. In 2021, he was awarded The 15th Hong Kong Arts Development Awards Life Achievement Award.
