香港演藝學院藝術（榮譽）學位畢業，主修舞台燈光設計，在學期間曾穫頒5個獎學金及首屆最佳學生燈光設計獎。於 2000 年憑《我的殺人故事》獲香港舞台劇獎最佳燈光設計。甘氏亦為一經驗豐富之製作經理，曾與多個本地專業團體合作，以及於 1997 至 2000 年出任香港藝術節的全職製作經理。近年積極參與專業舞台團體有關事務，為香港演藝學院舞台及製作藝術校友會創會主席及現任司庫、香港舞台技術及設計人員協會司庫及香港演藝學院校友會內務副主席。

Virginia Kam is a graduate of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hon) degree in Theatre Lighting Design; she received five scholarships and was awarded the Best Student Lighting Design in its inaugural year during her studies.  In 2000, Kam was presented the Best Lighting Design by the Hong Kong Drama Award for My Murder Story.  Kam is also an experienced production manager.  She has worked with most professional companies in Hong Kong and was Production Manager for the Hong Kong Arts Festival from 1997 to 2000.  Recently, Kam has actively participated in affairs associated with professional theatre organisations; she is the founding chairman and current treasurer of the HKAPA Theatre and Entertainment Arts Alumni Association, the Treasurer of the Hong Kong Association of Theatre Technicians and Scenographers and the Vice Chairman (Internal Affairs) of the HKAPA Alumni Association.
